Arizona Helping Hands Pajama Drive

Help us provide cozy pajamas for boys and girls ages 0-15 in foster care this holiday season through our friends at Arizona Helping Hands! Pajamas need to be new with tags and will be worn all year so they do not necessarily need to have holiday designs. Pajamas can be dropped off at the GCA Office at 7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy. Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. or at any holiday event. Email Sarah Van Duyne with any questions.

Chanukah Party

Head to JJ's Deli from 5-6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1 to enjoy wine, music, delicious brisket, traditional latkes, apples and honey, and other popular sweet treats. Kids will also enjoy crafts, activities, and a goody bag to take home. Cost to participate is just $3 per child and free for adults. Register by Nov. 26 to reserve your spot! Community Blood Drive

'Tis the season for giving, and what better way to give than giving to save a life! Stop by the GCA Office parking lot on Dec. 4 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to donate. Although walk-ins will be allowed, time slots are limited. Schedule an appointment online today by using code P1Y27 or call 877-25-VITAL (258-4825). Remember to bring a photo ID, drink extra water, and eat plenty prior to donating.

Cox Communications Outage

Cox Communications has a planned internet outage scheduled for next week. This outage will impact various Talon Retreat neighborhoods including Crown Point, Talon Point, Talon Fairways and Monterey. The outage will also likely impact the back Talon entry gate. The outage is schedule for December 1 and December 2. Cox will be communicating directly with residents, so please watch for more information or call 1-800-234-3993.

GCA Office Hours

The Grayhawk Community Association Office will be closing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24. The office will be closed on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday. The office will reopen on Monday, November 29 at 8 a.m.

Vendor Hours

As a reminder, vendor hours are 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday for quiet work only. Vendors are not permitted to do any work on holidays. Please help your neighbors enjoy a quiet and peaceful Thanksgiving by ensuring that any vendors are rescheduled for a permitted day and time.

Holiday Trash and Recycling

There will be no City of Scottsdale trash collection on Thanksgiving Day. Trash collection for this week will move to Friday, November 26. For more information, visit the City of Scottsdale website.

Holiday Guest List

If you live in the Retreat Village, please remember to add guests to your ABDI Gate Access account. The guards will call on every guest that is not listed as authorized in your account. If you are busy hosting a party and don’t hear your phone ring, your guest may be denied admittance. That is no way to spread holiday cheer!
If you are not sure how to log in to your ABDI account, you can find more information on grayhawkcommunity.org under Resident Services/ABDI Gate Access.

Transponder Installation (RVA Only)

Installations this week will occur on Monday from 8-9 a.m., Tuesday from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday from 9-10 a.m., and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102). If you would like to have a transponder installed, please follow the steps below:
1. Complete the online transponder installation form
2. Come to the office during one of the schedule times in the vehicle you are having the transponder installed on
3. Park in front of the office and stay in your car
4. A staff member will come out to install your transponder

We are no longer accepting cash for transponders. Please bring a check or credit card with you when you have a transponder installed.
