Arizona Helping Hands Donations

Nov. 1 through Dec. 15
Help us to collect new, non-holiday patterned pajamas and books for Arizona Helping Hands this holiday season. You can donate hardcover books for infants to toddlers or teenage reading genres. Pajamas are needed for all sizes, but especially teens that are size L or XL.

Items can be dropped off at the GCA Office Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or residents can purchase off of the Amazon Wish List and have items delivered directly to the office. To show our gratitude, all adult residents who contribute to the donation drive will receive a special drink ticket to be used at any of the fourth quarter events, including the Welcome Back Snowbirds mixer, Holly-Jolly Happy Hour or the Breakfast with Santa. It’s our way of saying “cheers” for your kindness and community spirit.

Join your neighbors for a festive evening of holiday cheer on Dec. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Federal Grill. Cost is $35 per person and includes appetizers, one drink ticket and great conversation with neighbors. A cash bar will also be available. Space is limited. Register by Nov. 27.

Put on your best holiday pajamas and join us at the Hilton Cavasson on Dec. 3 from 4-6 p.m. for a magical evening with Santa. Cost is $15 for adults and $12 for children ages 5 and up. Enjoy breakfast for dinner, cocoa, crafts and more. A cash bar will be available for adults. Don't miss this magical event! Space is limited. Register by Nov. 27.

Parents should drop off a wrapped gift at the GCA office for Santa to give your child by no later than Nov. 29. Please clearly mark your child's complete name and age on the gift. *Please note that the GCA Office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Hanukkah Party

Join neighbors on Dec. 13 from 6-8 p.m. in the Talon Room for festivities complete with light food, lively conversations, crafts for the kids and a heartwarming community blessing. Cost is $5 per person. Register by no later than Dec. 9.

GCA Office Hours

The GCA Office will be closing at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22 and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday!

Vendor Schedule

As a reminder, vendors are normally permitted to work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (quiet work only). On Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, no vendors are permitted. On both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, vendors are permitted to do quiet work only between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Holiday Trash Schedule

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Scottsdale will not pick up trash on Thursday, Nov. 23 and will instead pick up on Friday, Nov. 24. Please make sure you adjust accordingly.

Transponder Installation

Installations for this week will occur on Monday from 8-9 a.m., Tuesday from 2-3 p.m. and Wednesday from 9-10 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102).
