floo-id YOGA in the Park

Join us to relieve stress and enjoy the outdoors as floo-id YOGA hosts free Yoga in the Park on Oct. 16 from 9-10 a.m. at the greenbelt near the GCA Office at 7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy. No experience is necessary. Just bring your mat and a can-do attitude!  Make sure to register today!  






Decorated Cookies

Fall Cookie Decorating Class

Join us virtually on Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m. to make sweet cookie art that’s pleasing to the eye AND taste buds. This kit is baked to order by Smith-o-lator Cookies. Kits have a total of six fall themed sugar cookies with three different shapes and is enough enough for one adult or two kid decorators.  The first 25 register with the code "grayhawk"  will receive a $10 discount!

Food Truck Night-Waffle Crush

Pick up dinner or dessert (or both) on Oct. 21 from 5-7 at the corner of 78th Way and 78th Pl. They'll be serving up everything from ham and cheese and Turkey Pesto to Peanut Butter Madness and Brownie Explosion waffles.  Please park in the offices at Grayhawk parking lot located at 7940 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy. and take the sidewalk path to the greenbelt.

Throw on a costume and join us to enjoy a Pumpkin Patch with to-go craft kits, Deb's Dragons, axe throwing, spin art, balloon twisting, and so much more!  We will have a food truck serving up delicious hot dogs,chips and cold refreshments. Cost is $10 per child and parents who want to eat can pay $5 during registration for a food ticket. Register by Oct. 19. There will be no late or event day registrations accepted for this event. City of Scottsdale Bulk Trash

City of Scottsdale bulk trash crews are still working to get caught up. Please be patient as they work to catch up and return to their regular schedule. 

As a reminder, your brush and bulk items should be placed three feet apart parallel to the street on your property line. Please do not block the street or sidewalk with bulk and brush. For more information on bulk trash, including what is considered bulk trash and how to prepare for pickup, visit the City of Scottsdale website.

Recreational Vehicles

Motorized vehicles (ATVs, go-peds, motorcycles, etc.) are prohibited on Association responsibility areas including greenbelts, walkways, washes, etc. You can find specific details in our Wheeled Recreational Equipment Policy.  Thank you for keeping our community safe by adhering to these guidelines.

Where to Report Mosquitos

Information provided by Maricopa County Environmental Services


If you notice excessive mosquitos, please report it to Maricopa County Environmental Services

Maricopa County Environmental Services conducts year-round surveillance and abatement of mosquitoes. Their Vector Control Division deploys routine mosquito traps every week and additional complaint driven traps to collect mosquitoes. You can view trap locations on the Mosquito Management Map. 

Culex mosquitoes are tested for West Nile and St. Louis encephalitis viruses and Aedes aegypti mosquitoes are tested for Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika viruses. The Vector Control Division also investigates feral bees, fly, and roof rat complaints.

New Trash/Recycle Collection Days

City of Scottsdale trash and recycling collection days will be changing beginning Nov. 1. 

Grayhawk recycle (pink cans) will be picked on Tuesday and 
trash (black cans) will be picked up on Thursday.

RETREAT VILLAGE NEWS HEADER

Retreat Pool Updates

Crown Point
Beginning Oct. 11, the pool area will be closed for approximately three weeks. The anticipated re-open date is Oct. 29. The Crown Point Board of Directors has approved the pool resurface material to be Mini-Pebble as an upgrade to the current plaster. An alternate pool will be provided for use during this time if requested.  If you have any questions, please contact Ashley Scott.

The Volare pool heater has been repaired and the pool is open.

Transponder Installation (RVA Only)

Installations this week will occur on Monday from 8-9 a.m., Tuesday from 2-3 p.m., Wednesday from 9-10 a.m., Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and Friday from 8-9 a.m. at the GCA office (7940 E Thompson Peak Pkwy #102).  For questions, please contact Cierra at 480-563-9708 or caustin@ccmcnet.com.  



If you would like to have a transponder installed, please follow the steps below:
1. Complete the online transponder installation form
2. Come to the office during one of the schedule times in the vehicle you are having the transponder installed on
3. Park in front of the office and stay in your car
4. A staff member will come out to install your transponder

We are no longer accepting cash for transponders. Please bring a check or credit card with you when you have a transponder installed.
