Scottsdale Water Line Project
The city of Scottsdale will be installing approximately 3,200 linear feet of 16-inch water line under Scottsdale Road from Princess Blvd to Mayo Blvd beginning May 18, 2020. The water line project is necessary to alleviate pressure issues and to adequately meet customer demand in the area.
Construction will begin just south of Princess Blvd and progress north to Mayo Blvd. Northbound traffic on Scottsdale Road in the project area will be reduced to one lane. Southbound lanes will be reduced to two lanes. Both north- and southbound left turns will be maintained at Mayo Blvd, Chauncey Lane and Princess Blvd, with intermittent, short-term closures as needed.
This project was originally planned to begin in the summer of 2021. Given reduced traffic and lightened resort travel related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Scottsdale Water was able to move the project up to summer 2020 to lessen the impact of the Scottsdale Road traffic restrictions.
